अग्निवीरों को अर्धसैनिक बलों में 10% आरक्षण दिया गया है। उन्हें भर्ती होने से पहले एक लिखित परीक्षा पास करनी होगी। केंद्र ने इस सम्बन्ध में पहली बार स्थिति स्पष्ट की है। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने सीआरपीएफ में कॉन्स्टेबलों की भर्ती के लिए गुरूवार को संशोधित नियम जारी किये है। अग्निवीरों को शारीरिक दक्षता परीक्षा से छूट दी गई है और उम्र में 3 साल की छूट मिलेगी। अग्निवीरों के पहले बैच को उम्र में 5 साल की छूट मिलेगी।
केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बल (सीएपीएफ) के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि आरक्षण को लेकर स्पस्टीकरण का इंतज़ार कर रहे है कि जाति आधारित आरक्षण को प्रभावित किये बिना पूर्व-अग्निवीरों को कैसे भर्ती करेंगे। नई अधिसूचना में कहा गया है, ‘एससी-एसटी’, ओबीसी, आदि को दी जाने वाली आयु-सीमा में छूट और अन्य रियायतों पर असर नहीं पड़ेगा।
